Concepts
Shuttle is built on one idea: a transfer order is an order, and it deserves everything Finance & Operations already gives sales and purchase orders. Each capability below is that principle applied to a specific gap.
Cancellation as a first-class operation
Sales and purchase orders can be canceled; standard transfer orders cannot, so the record of a canceled move is usually a deleted line and a gap in the history. Shuttle makes cancellation a real operation: it requires a reason code, it leaves the order and its history intact, and it writes an audit trail. Where statutory rules require demonstrating why a documented movement did not happen, that trail is the answer.
Cost belongs on the line
When goods move between sites, the freight and handling to move them are part of what that inventory now cost. Standard transfer orders give that cost nowhere to land, so it leaks into expense accounts or gets pushed in later by manual journal. Shuttle capitalizes charges and freight directly on the transfer line, so the receiving site's inventory value reflects what the goods actually cost to get there, at posting time rather than after the fact.
Dimensions flow through
Financial dimensions are how finance slices everything else in the system. Shuttle applies them at both header and line on transfer orders and carries them through, so inter-site movement is reportable along the same dimensions as the rest of the business instead of being a blind spot.
Tolerances turn discrepancies into workflow
Over- and under-receipt is normal in inter-site movement. Without tolerances, every variance between what shipped and what arrived is an exception someone must chase. Shuttle defines tolerance bands and a discrepancy workflow between the sending and receiving sites: variances inside tolerance clear themselves, and variances outside it are routed for resolution. Humans handle the genuine exceptions and nothing else.
Finalize and lock
When a transfer order is fully received and settled, Shuttle can finalize it and lock it against further changes. A completed movement becomes a closed record, which is what both auditors and tidy period-ends want.
Documents for the border
A transfer that crosses a customs boundary needs documentation, and the standard product produces none. Shuttle generates a customs document pack for cross-border transfer orders, so international inter-site moves are documented from the system of record rather than assembled by hand alongside it.
