Overview
Search the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations documentation for warranty and you find two features, and neither is the warranty you sell. One is informational vendor warranty on the items you purchase. The other is field-service coverage, which carries no claims engine at all. Outbound customer warranty, the promise you made to your buyer when you sold the product, has no home in the platform.
The consequences are predictable. Coverage lives in spreadsheets. Customer claims are tracked in a service desk tool, adjudicated by feel, and keyed back into the ERP as standalone credits with no link to the claim that caused them. Recovery from the component supplier whose part actually failed rarely happens, because it requires connecting records that live in different systems. And the warranty liability on the balance sheet is an estimate nobody fully trusts.
What Reclaim does
Reclaim closes the loop, inside Finance & Operations, where the serialized product, the customer, and the ledger already live:
- Register coverage on the serialized products you sell: warranty terms, duration, and what they entitle the customer to. When a claim arrives, entitlement is checked automatically instead of argued from a filing cabinet.
- Adjudicate every claim to an outcome. Each customer claim moves from intake through validation and adjudication to a defined disposition: repair, replace, credit, refund, goodwill, or reject, with the record to back the decision.
- Recover from the supplier at fault. When a defective causal part is to blame, raise a supplier recovery claim linked to the customer claim and charge the cost back to the vendor. This is the step most teams never make manually, and it is the one that pays for the product.
- Run recalls and field actions across the affected serial population, with returns, RMA, and quality linkage.
- Reserve correctly. Accrue warranty provisions at sale and draw them down as claims are paid, posted natively to your ledger and aligned to ASC 460 and IAS 37.
Reclaim is purpose-built for general discrete, industrial, high-tech, and consumer-goods manufacturers. It is not the auto-dealer model the incumbent warranty tools assume.
It installs as a package into your own environment, posts natively into your ledger, and is maintained across Finance & Operations releases. Start free in a sandbox via Get started, or read the claim lifecycle in Concepts.
